Ice Chewing Has Become A Bad Habit?

I have really bad anxiety attacks and was told chewing ice will help me not take medication as much. Well once a week turned into everyday 5 cups or more a day. I buy bags of ice keep them in fridge and help myself. I know this is a big no no and is bad for my teeth. I can't stop it's become a habit out of control. Help!! I try and stop but i crave the ice. What to do?

Have you tried chewing gum instead? Or maybe try to ween yourself off it, gradually chewing on less ice each day over a couple of weeks.
